Sorry everyone for slow updating – I have only just returned from Glastonbury Festival.
The first update from Apple to reach double figures has at last made its way to the public and brings Tiger to the last forseeable update before Leopard. This update contains relatively minor fixes to the following:
- Bluetooth Audio Fix
- RAW Image Support
- USB Device Fixes
- Security Updates

Just an update for those of you that have laptops and integrated sound based on the Intel HDA specification. Taruga has released an updated version of his AppleHDA Patcher which uses the new 10.4.9 kext. Grab version 1.16 from the thread here. For those of you that have only just found this – this patches the kext to work with any card from any manufacturer using a linux codec dump.

For those of you that haevn't been able to get your hands dirty with the latest OS X beta of Leopard (build 9A466) that was released at the WWDC then you may be interested in Wired's review . It covers all the new features including the spectacular visuals that make the GUI a much pleasanter experience for the user and make computers accessible and simple the way they should have been for years.

Safari for Windows, while still in beta, has already been updated to fix several security exploits found within the browser that could compromise a user's system. While not being a good sign having 7 bugs found within days of beng released to the public the browser still is in early beta phase so this should be expected.
You can grab it from Apple. Mac users need not worry – these exploits do not affect them.

The updated version of Safari 3.0 that comes bundled with Leopard is now Windows (yes, WINDOWS) XP and Vista compatible. This means thousands of Microsoft users can now use the only truly web compliant browser made and can pass the ACID2 test. This was just announced in WWDC2007 and Steve claims this is twice as fast as Internet Explorer and faster than Firefox. A beta version is expected to be released to the public shortly.
Update: Grab the Windows and OS X beta here.
