The latest install DVD released by JaS has now completed it’s beta test and is now available to the public. This version is Mac OS X 10.4.8. It features a wide array of features and and supprot for hardware. Available on Demonoid. Direct link in the IRC channel #jas.dvd |

OS X 10.4.9 has been released to developers, however only the Intel release currently. Initial reports from the community suggest there is no great challenge in making this OSx86 compatible as there is no new security apparent. The usual process of backing up frameworks and key files allows a boot to GUI using Semthex’s kernel and the sources for the kernel should be released soon.
Could this be the last time the kernel source will be released to the public due to Apple’s opensource agreement changing with Leopard? Progress here.
