Semthex has done it again and brought SSE2 users on OS X 10.4.8 a kernel with full SpeedStep support. Of course this is most beneficial to Pentium M users but should prove useful for other mobile users. The kernel is of version 8.8.1 and is built from the open-source code and as such means no 8.9.1 is planned yet. You can find this in the #Kernel channel on the irc.moofspeak.net server. Note: this will only bring SpeedStep functionality to supported CPUs, so if you are a Celeron M user for example and do not experience this feature usually you still won't get it.
