JaS has returned after a much needed break and with it he comes bearing a new ISO in beta form at the moment. He decided that it would be fun to make a Leopard install DVD and is currently testing an SSE3 and SSE2 Intel DVD. Expect a release after thorough testing of 10.5.2. Keep an eye on the thread here.

Apple have released updates to Airport and Timemachine allowing Airport Extreme users to make Timemachine backups to their AirDisks. Stability and performance improvements are also reported especially with Time Capsule. This update breaks hackintoshes due to a new mach_kernel (9.2.2) and system.kext so do not update via Software Update. Updating is fine on vanilla EFI hackintoshes. Other hackintosh users must hold off for now.

Netkas has been busy recently with Natiti with lots of support Radeon HD users. The following cards are now supported: - 3870 X2
- 3870
- 3850
- 2600PRO
- 2600XT
The new natit can be found here. (Original Post) 2600PRO and 3850 users will need the white menu fix found in #radeonhd channel on IRC (irc.osx86.hu). The Radeon HD 3870 X2 will function as two cards if you have more than 2 DVI ports, else will appear as one, full package on IRC. Don’t forget PC-EFI is essential for this.

A new kernel built from source for 10.5.2 has been released from netkas. This kernel, 9.2.0 includes speedstep and support for both SSE2 and SSE3 CPUs. If you are using PC_EFI you can also grab a new SMBIOS here which adds more information to System Profiler. If you experience problems with this SMBIOS you can try iGuru’s here. The kernel can be found in #10.5 on irc.osx86.hu. Link.

So I got annoyed with the site being in a half working state due to various bad upgrades, use of RC’s of Joomla 1.5 and my own bad coding of templates. Anyway, all should now be fixed. The site is now running on Joomla 1.5 Stable, I have fixed my template to correctly handle user registrations and other system messages, the downloads section no longer crashes IE (that took me ages to figure out until I realised the youtube videos code was conflicting with docman and causing and “Operation Aborted” error) and should soon be benefitting from additions. IE6 users should be aware as usual that the site looks best in IE7, Safari or Firefox. I may be looking into an iPhone version sometime. The comments section has now been fixed and guests may now also add comments. To render user registration relatively obsolete except in the case of registering a username for comments the downloads section is now open to everyone. You may now login with your Gmail account directly in the login form and an account will automatically generate for your email (e.g.
